Brampton JAM: Living Music Culture

Brampton JAM is a free, low-pressure community music jam session that celebrates Brampton’s living music culture through participation, collaboration, and live groove-based music.

Rooted in pop, R&B, soul, funk, hip-hop, and jazz-influenced traditions, this jam session invites youth, emerging musicians, hobbyists, and community members of all ages to experience music as something we make together — not just something we watch from an audience.

Participants are welcome to bring any of their own instruments or use the ones provided. Vocalists are encouraged to participate too! The session will be supported by mentor musicians who will keep the music going, guide participants, and create space for different levels of confidence and experience.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

– experience a low-pressure, collaborative and supportive community jam

– build confidence playing or singing with other musicians

– practise listening, groove, dynamics, and musical communication

– explore pop, R&B, soul, funk, hip-hop, and jazz-influenced musical traditions through live participation

– connect with other Brampton musicians and community members

– contribute to a growing local music culture rooted in access, participation, and connection
